The Challenge: Breaking Down Barriers to Employment

Did you know that only 4.8% of UK adults with a learning disability are in paid employment? This is a staggering statistic that highlights the significant barriers faced by neurodivergent individuals when seeking sustainable work. Many businesses want to be more inclusive but are unsure how to take those first steps.

That’s where The Mason Foundation comes in. Their Propel programme is designed to support young people in developing vocational skills while helping businesses become confident and capable of fostering a diverse workforce.

What is Propel?

Propel is all about creating meaningful employment opportunities for young people who are neurodivergent or have additional learning needs. The programme works on two key fronts:

Supporting education and youth organisations to empower young people with skills, confidence, and real-world experience.

Helping businesses become more inclusive employers by offering practical training and support to create welcoming workplaces.

The Mason Foundation is offering a fully funded CPD-accredited training workshop to help businesses build Propel Workplace Mentors. These mentors will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to support neurodivergent employees, making your workplace a more inclusive and supportive environment.
