We spend so much time scrolling and searching for inspiration- social media has almost conditioned us to look externally for what we want to be. Well, we think that’s wrong. We think that inspiration is in us all, we just need to look in the right places. Did you know that it's very likely that YOU are an inspiration to some if not COUNTLESS people? In partnership with The Greater London Authority (

In partnership with The Greater London Authority (GLA), London Youth and Family Action, Headstart Action is a series of free Social Action and Employability workshops open to young people who live or study in the borough of Southwark aged 14 - 18. The programme will take place over 10 weeks this summer and we would love for you to share this fantastic opportunity with your network of young people for them to join us and take full advantage of all the benefits the programme has to offer!
These include:
Work experience - Participants who show commitment to the programme will get the opportunity to apply for PAID employment
Confidence: Participants will learn practical tips during workshops to develop their confidence and get mentoring to support their next steps.
Employability skills: Participants will get the opportunity to meet local employers and understand how and where to look for opportunities, and the application process - including CVs, cover letters and mock interviews.
Entrepreneurial skills: Participants can take part in a social action project about a cause important to them
Programme Details Dates : Wednesday 28th June - 19th July (1 workshop per week)
Time: 4.30pm - 7pm
Location: Southwark (location will be given out after sign-up)
Dates : Monday 24th July - Thursday 27th July
Time: 12pm - 4pm

Dates : Tuesday 1st August - 12pm - 2pm

The Paddington Development Trust are currently working on two Mayors Academies programmes -‘You’re Welcome!’ supports people on their journey into the hospitality industry and ‘Visions’ helps people activate their potential in working within the creative industry.
On the 6th June 2023, they will be holding a taster day event called ‘Insight into Industry’. It will feature live demonstrations from people currently engaging in hospitality and creative pathways through the Mayors Hubs, Capital City College and Westminster Kingsway College. They would like to invite you to come down, try things out, network, check out opportunities and listen to the experiences of industry professionals or people that have made the transition into these fields either from community and entry level or an academic pathway.
