Employ Yourself – SE16
Free course to help unemployed who have a great business idea to start their own enterprise
Unemployed and economically inactive residents from Croydon and the surrounding boroughs can now book a free online course to help them get started in business. People that have a great idea for a business or always had ambitions to start an enterprise can get all the help they need.
The free Employ Yourself –SE16 course, run by charity Tree Shepherd in partnership with Paddington Development Trust (PDT), runs for 6-weeks from 30 June 2021, beginning with an induction and covers topics from writing a business plan to marketing a business. The induction day will take place at the Thrive workspace in Surrey Quays, SE16.
Participants are supported in developing their ideas, before designing a business plan, learning about cash flow, and how to make their first sale. It is open to residents of Surrey Quays and the surrounding areas who are aged 18 or over who are unemployed or economically inactive.
Sandra Ferguson, CEO of Tree Shepherd said: “We want to show people, especially the unemployed, that they can realise their dreams and run a business. With the advice and guidance that our tutors and advisors provide they can be running a successful enterprise in no time. The courses will offer insight into all aspects of running a business.”
Participants are offered ongoing business advice from Tree Shepherd’s mentors on completion of the course.
