Chances are that you already know who or what your competition is- but do you know what sets you apart from them? 🔑The key is to focus on direct competitors -ones that sell items closely related to yours, are in your area (if you are considering having a physical shop) and are a similar size. ❓Are your similar products across the board or is there room for both of you? Have a look at how they market themselves, what’s their social media account like? What platforms are they on, do they post regularly- an important one is engagement- are they actually having dialogue with their base or is it all about the numbers? Are they advertising themselves? Blogging? 💌Newsletters and email updates? 📋Carry out a SWOT analysis- SWOT stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This can be really helpful if you reference against your own business plan. Getting to know your competition and what they do is ALMOST as important as knowing your own business.
