How is it December.
As usual it’s been busy, busy, busy here at Tree Shepherd. In November we’ve been working on the launch of Women in Enterprise. This is something that we’ve wanted to do for a very long time and thanks to funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery we will be able to deliver focused business support and guidance to entrepreneurs in our community. If you’re interested in finding out more get in touch and we will be happy to discuss the programme and how it could help you.
We are working in partnership with Westminster University to conduct a ‘social impact study’, a programme that forms part of their Community Consulting Programme. The information gained from this study will be incredibly useful to us and helps us to understand where and how we can support you – our community members – to achieve your potential. We want to extend our thanks to the students of Westminster who have worked so professionally to assist in this vital project
Alongside some of our amazing Glows members we attended Brixton Village to help kick off their Thrifty Thursday Christmas Market. This fabulous initiative has been set up to help people with economical ways of gift-giving, vital in these times of high living costs. Every Thursday participating traders will offer 50% off all their stock – and this includes restaurants! (food only). It was a wonderful opportunity to talk and share with so many people about the work that we do at Tree Shepherd to help small businesses get off the ground. The market is every Thursday from 17th November until 18th December so please get down there and support this wonderful initiative.
Is it too early to say that it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas?

Coworking spaces and your enterprise
At Tree Shepherd we are proud of our co-working spaces. We specialise in working with entrepreneurs from the SE16 area, and deal with all the issues that can slow a growing business down.
We know that the financial situation is worrying for many people who run their own small businesses and that’s why now more than ever being able to provide this much needed option is so important to us -and we feel these spaces are key in helping us to support small and micro businesses in our communities.
We’ve written a blog this month about our spaces and how they could help you and your enterprise grow and reach their potential.

Case study Catch-Up – Cherrelle
It’s been three months and it’s time to catch up with our case study Cherrelle – she attended our Employ Yourself Course and in our opinion is going from absolute strength to strength.
We sat down with her this month to go over everything that she’s been doing since we last spoke, what her plans are for the next few months and how her Tree Shepherd training has helped her during her journey.
Catch up on her journey here.
