September 2022 Newsletter

Hello to you all, I hope that this message finds you all well. Things at Tree Shepherd HQ have been as busy as ever, we have so many exciting projects currently going on – and many more in the pipeline (watch this space!!) that the days (and year!) really do seem to just fly by.

We’ve just welcomed our latest cohort of Start Your Own Enterprise students – the quality of the group is nothing short of amazing. Their drive and determination is inspiring. We will be running more of these, and other courses over the coming months. These are always very popular and spaces are limited so if you or someone you know could benefit from attending please get in touch ASAP to register your interest, or to find out more.

Thank you to everyone who attended our amazing summer networking party. It was lovely that our staff, partners, and clients could celebrate the work that Tree Shepherd has achieved. We have been working with some fantastic businesses who are keen to continue to thrive and grow their business, despite the cost-of-living crisis. A special thank you to Vessy @skylight for inviting us to host our event in one of the newest hotspots in Peckham,

We are halfway through a very successful Free LEAP bespoke Ludi Board Workshops for young people aged 18-30. During the sessions they learn how to make their own Ludi Board, gaining carpentry, design, math and painting skills. When the program finishes each young person goes home with their own bespoke Ludi Board – and from what we’ve seen so far, they are all a super talented and creative bunch. We owe a world of thanks to  GLOWS Member Ottey Winston who is the Tutor and Master Ludi Board entrepreneur as well as all the team at LEAP for helping to make this happen. Finally, I wanted to conclude this message with a touching poem which was written to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth by Mariam Ibin-Ibrahim from Awesome Autism.

The Importance of Diversity and Inclusion

The team here at Tree Shepherd have recently attended diversity and inclusion training and wanted to share with you some of the things that we gained from the session. It’s a fact that Businesses flourish when they represent every kind of individual and this is a practice everyone needs to work on. Remember-Inclusivity isn’t only for the betterment of one’s business, it helps to create a better society too.
