This month’s spotlight features Thelma Foreman — a Lewisham-based travel agent, mindset coach, and founder of Lifestyle Upgrade Travel. Her journey with Tree Shepherd began with a chance encounter and quickly grew into something bigger: structure, support, and a fresh sense of direction.
Before joining Tree Shepherd, what was your business journey like?
“I didn’t have any business training,” says Thelma. “I knew I wanted to build something meaningful, but I didn’t know how to make it profitable or structured.”
Her background includes years as a health support carer and rehabilitation assistant. She’s also a Mindset Upgrade Coach and Director of Elevation Empowerment CIC, supporting the wider community. But it was business education that changed the pace of her progress.
How did you first connect with Tree Shepherd?
“I overheard a woman talking about business training. I just asked her for more information — and I’m glad I did.”
From there, she joined enterprise workshops and business courses. She dove in with an open mind.
“I learned how to create a business plan for the first time since starting my business. That was a real turning point.”
What did you find helpful about the experience?
“The information is shared in a way that’s easy to understand. It’s not just theory — it’s practical, and there’s time to talk through challenges.”
That balance helped her find clarity in areas that had felt uncertain.
“I really enjoyed how the sessions were run. The support and encouragement were just what I needed.”
What’s next for you and Lifestyle Upgrade Travel?
“I feel more confident now. I’ve learned things that will help me grow — step by step. I’m using what I’ve learned to take my business to the next level.”
